The Story Behind Pomelo

Welcome to Pomelo

My name is Çağla, and I was born and raised in Izmir, a city at the heart of the Aegean Sea.

Growing up in Izmir allowed me to experience this unique region from within, between Turkey and the nearby Greek islands. Since childhood, I have had the chance to discover its landscapes, traditions, and most importantly, the people who bring these places to life.

Over the years, I have built genuine connections with local artisans, restaurateurs, guides, and passionate people who love sharing the stories of their regions. Today, these relationships have become one of the greatest strengths of Pomelo Voyage, allowing me to create experiences together with people I know and trust.

For me, travelling is not just about visiting a place. A journey begins with a conversation, a shared meal, a local story, and a meaningful connection.

The name Pomelo comes from a very personal childhood memory. Every Saturday, I used to go to the market in Izmir with my grandmother. I looked forward to that moment, especially to choose the pomelo fruit I loved so much. But what I loved most was the atmosphere of the market: the smiles, the spontaneous conversations, and the warmth shared between people.

Through these moments, I learned the importance of curiosity, kindness, sharing, and authenticity.

A few years later, life brought me to France. Living between two cultures made me understand even more the power of travel: its ability to bring people together and create bridges between different worlds.

With Pomelo Voyage, I want to share this vision of travel: authentic experiences built around local connections, meaningful discoveries, and moments that stay with you long after the journey ends.

Every trip is a story.

And we can’t wait to create your journey together.
